The lyre is a string instrument known for its use in Greek classical antiquity and later periods. The lyre is similar in appearance to a small harp but with distinct differences. The fundamental difference between a lyre and a harp is that in a harp, the strings enter directly into the hollow body of the instrument, whereas, on a lyre, the strings pass over a bridge, which transmits the vibrations of the strings to the body of the instrument – just as on a modern guitar.
In addition, most of the traditional harps use nylon strings, whereas lyre usually uses steel strings. In terms of timbre, the lyre still has a harp's ethereal and long-lasting tone, but it sounds more ancient with a deeper Medieval tone. The sound of steel strings adds a mysterious and unique beauty to this instrument.

Absolutely love this adorable little instrument. Beginner on the lyre but plenty of experience with other instruments - it's surprisingly easy to transfer skills and knowledge across to the lyre. The tuning is very particular; it takes a bit of time and practice to get a feel for just how little you need to adjust it.
I got the Classic Natural colour which in person is much darker than I thought, but that was perfect for me because I originally wanted the mahogany coloured one, but it was sold out.
This Lyre is beautiful! Sounds lovely and within 30 minutes of opening it, I can play the beginning of beginner songs with no prior musical experience. Absolutely recommend

It's such a lovely but easy to learn instrument, I've been thrilled to learn it everyday. Self tuned the strings according to the app suggested in the manual and viola! It's amazing!

It's everything I expected to be and more! The lyre wasn't as heavy as I thought and it's such a beautiful color! Tuning it was easy and it came unscathed.

The lyre is gorgeous! It came slightly out of tune but that was probably because of the heat and was easily fixed. Thank you, I'm looking forward to learning to play.
A good little starter! The harp is well made, well sized, pretty cute, and has some alright acoustics to boot. It came with a nice little bag, tuner, and accessories which was lovely also. Aside from having to tune it again every five minutes, it's an excellent first harp for those with some musical background (I'd recommend fewer strings for those with no background).
Sweet sound. For a keyboard player, it is easy(ish!) to get the hang of it. Can tune to other keys if needed. Tuning is very fine (in that a small adjustment can make a big difference), which can be a challenge. Good quality for the $ paid, and friends enjoy listening to it.
I have barely been able to put my lyre down since it arrived. It's beautiful to look at and even more so to listen to - even for someone like me with little to no previous experience with music. It's been easy to pick up and compelling to practice with. When I decide to later purchase one with a different number of strings I'll definitely purchase from here again.
This is my second purchase from the store, and it's just as perfect as my kalimba! It arrived in perfect condition, with all the accessories, it did need alittle tuning, but the instructions and tools included helped to get it all set up! I am happy with the harp and the service. One drawback is that the string for note G3 is so close to the edge of the handle. When I want to pick the string from the back it is very difficult and my finger hit the handle. Please give this feedback to the manufacturer to make modifications to the harp.

really nice sound, good size the beginers booklet is pretty good i would love if it went into a little more detail with the songs or come with more of a 'beginers book' likeyou can get with other instunments but i know you usually buy them seperatley anyway. overall verry nice
The lyre is good quality (the wood knicks easily so be careful). These size lyres are quiet due to the smaller size, but they stay in tune and have a good sound for metal strings.
I bought this as a birthday gift for my daughter. She adores it, the colour, the lovely tone, and how easy it is to just pick up and learn. Within an hour she was playing a passable rendition of Scarborough Fair. As gifts go this was definitely a winner
My very musical 13year old son saw this and spent most of his pocket money to purchase it! He loves it and so do we. It has a beautiful tone, it's lighter than his Trumpet and French Horn :) and he's enjoying playing it for fun. I would really recommend this instrument it's beautifully made and comes with all you need included. Suited to all ages... Give it a go!
Great quality instrument, especially For the price. As with all new instruments, the strings do detune quickly and I find they are fiddly to get 100% but they are getting easier.
